Doctors Providing Both Inpatient and Outpatient Rehab Care

At the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), we provide physician services at the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute and numerous outpatient clinics throughout western Pennsylvania.

Our doctors focus on restoring function for people with:

Developing New Technologies to Keep You Independent

The Department of PM&R is a leader in research, therapy, and advanced rehabilitation technology.

Not only are we dedicated to providing you with exceptional clinical care, we’re also focused on developing new technologies and treatments to help you achieve mobility and maintain independence.

One way we seek to improve rehabilitation therapy with technology is through our Robotics and Gaming Center. Researchers seek to make these technological tools available for inpatient and outpatient rehab therapy. Through robotics and gaming patients can improve motion and other functions through measured repetition, all with increased engagement.
