Is the app available for Android devices through the Google Play store?

​UPMC’s HealthBeat app is not currently available for Android devices.

Is the app available for any devices other than the iPhone?

Yes, UPMC’s HealthBeat app is supported by the iPad and iPod devices. 

Do I need to be a UPMC Health Plan member to access the HealthBeat app?

No! Anyone can download the UPMC HealthBeat app.

How do I modify my personal category preferences?

It’s easy! Go to Account Settings – click My Categories – and select as many categories as you want to personalize your feed. 

How do I continue to receive communications from UPMC HealthBeat?

Upon downloading, you can enter your email address to sign up for future HealthBeat communications. If you choose to skip this step, you have the ability to opt in through the account settings page at a later time. 

How do I favorite articles?

Simply select the star icon at the top right of the screen within the article to save and revisit later.

How do I enable UPMC’s daily health tip?

​Visit your iPhone Settings app and click Notifications – UPMC HealthBeat – then choose Allow Notifications. ​ ​​​​​
