Service Spotlight

Stereotactic Breast Biopsy

UPMC Bedford Memorial has expanded its health and wellness services available to women with the addition of digital stereotactic breast biopsies.

If a suspected abnormality is found on your mammogram, and you need a biopsy, you may be able to avoid traditional surgery with a stereotactic breast biopsy.  It’s a simple outpatient procedure that takes as little as 15 minutes.

A stereotactic breast biopsy is the most accurate, efficient, and minimally-invasive biopsy technique today. This simple and safe procedure requires an incision so small that stitches are not needed and allows patients to immediately resume normal activities.

Ask your doctor if stereotactic breast biopsy at UPMC Bedford Memorial is right for you.
