Suketu Mansuria, MD, is the Assistant Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. He also is the Assistant Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship.
Dr. Mansuria received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami as part of the highly selective Honors Program in Medicine. After obtaining his medical degree in 1999, he completed his residency and fellowship training in Advanced Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Surgery at UPMC/Magee-Womens Hospital.
Dr. Mansuria’s clinical practice is devoted to minimally invasive surgical options for women. He performs more than 500 surgical procedures per year, focusing on fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, heavy periods, ovarian cysts, infertility, and other gynecologic conditions. Dr. Mansuria is a firm believer that healthcare decisions should be made with a team approach, involving both the physician and patient. He believes in educating patients on their healthcare choices and helping them choose the treatment that best suits their needs - be it surgical or non-surgical options. He has received numerous awards recognizing his compassionate and skilled care, including being named as one of the Best Doctors for Women by Pittsburgh Magazine.
Given his commitment to minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Mansuria wants to make these options available to more women. For over a decade, he has been educating residents, fellows, and currently practicing surgeons (both nationally and internationally) on minimally invasive techniques. The fellows that he has trained have gone on to create Minimally Invasive Surgery Divisions at prestigious universities, such as Harvard/Beth Israel University, Duke University, Stanford University, University of California, and University of Florida. He has been asked to speak at numerous national conferences, demonstrate his surgical techniques during live telesurgeries, present his research at national meetings, and exhibit his award-winning surgical videos to his colleagues. He also is an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Chair of the Video Presentation Committee for the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Mansuria is a dedicated minimally invasive surgeon and strong patient advocate. He believes that minimally invasive surgery is the way of the future and that these options should be made available to all women.
