Typical Day
7 to 9 a.m.: Work rounds
9 a.m. to Noon: Teaching/management rounds
Noon to 1 p.m.: Noon conference lecture series
1 to 5 p.m.: New admissions, discharges, patient care
Night Float
The team includes two PGY-1s, 1 admitting senior and a PGY-3 house senior.
PGY-1: Covers the units and teaching patients on the floors under the direct supervision and support of the PGY-3 house senior.
PGY-2: Admits teaching patients and unit patients from the Emergency Department. Maximum patient cap is 10.
PGY-3: House senior on call provides direct supervision and support for PGY-1 and PGY-2 and runs any codes.
Hospitalist present 24/7/365 for back-up/support as needed.
