The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit health care ratings organization, recently released the new Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades. The Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals nationwide based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms.
UPMC Northwest was among the 750 awarded an ‘A’ for their commitment to keeping patients safe and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S.
“We are very honored to receive this rating which is a wonderful testament of the dedication and commitment of our staff, physicians and board members for ensuring the highest quality and safety possible for our patients,” said Brian Durniok, president of UPMC Northwest. “We’ve adopted a strong culture of patient safety and are proud of our team and their commitment to continuous improvement in safety and quality.”
