Worksite Wellness

Our CARES specialists, 20 nurse educators, registered dietitians, health coaches, tobacco cessation specialists and lab technicians, will work with you and your organization to bring health screening and education programs to your worksite.

Health Screenings

Our efforts often begin with screenings to get a baseline assessment of your employees’ health.

Assessments:

  • Bone density
  • Cardiac risk and stroke
  • Hearing
  • Skin analysis
  • Sleep
  • Vascular health

Biometrics:

  • Blood glucose
  • Blood pressure
  • BMI (body mass index)
  • Cholesterol (total cholesterol and full lipid panel)

Health Risk Assessments:

  • Tobacco Cessation

**We also offer Flu Vaccinations**

Our CARES team will work with each employee to conduct the screening and explain the results at the time of the screening, not days later. During these teachable moments, we will advise the employee about opportunities to change behavior and become healthier. If appropriate, we will refer an employee to a PCP.

Your organization will also receive a de-indetified aggregate report that summarizes, the outcomes of your organization's screening participants. The report will include recommendations for the next steps.

Education Programs

CARES provides education programs, Lunch & Learns, small group sessions and individual counseling, at the worksite to address employee needs and organizational goals for example:

Case Study

After conducting health screenings for a local construction company, the CARES team identified specific conditions that were affecting its employees. CARES confirmed these conditions by reviewing the firm's claims data with the insurance carrier and benefits consultant. The team then worked with the employer to develop an education program that addressed these needs.

The education program includes individual nutritional counseling, tobacco cessation sessions and blood pressure checks. The program has helped reduce tobacco usage by six percent and improve abnormal total cholesterol by 12 percent among screening participants. The firm continues to offer the program to its employees.
