Heart Center Patients of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC to Enjoy Annual Turner Family Heart to Heart Picnic

WHAT: Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC’s Annual Turner Family Heart to Heart Picnic for patients and families of the hospital’s Heart Center.

Activities will include the “Soak the Doctor” game, hayrides, clowns, spin art, obstacle courses, Children’s pet therapy animals, face painting and visits from Iceburgh – the Pittsburgh Penguins mascot – and the Eat’n Park Cookie.

WHO: More than 700 patients and their families are expected to join physicians, nurses and other staff from Children’s Hospital’s Heart Center.

WHEN: 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011

WHERE: Turner Dairy Farms, 3401 State Route 819, Saltsburg, PA 15681

WHY: Children’s Hospital’s Annual Turner Family Heart to Heart picnic is an opportunity for children to meet other children with heart conditions and for families to meet and talk in an informal, relaxed atmosphere. Physicians, staff and friends of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh attend and are available to take questions and offer guidance to kids and their families.
