Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC

Pennsylvania State Treasurer Rob McCord to Donate 1,300 Stuffed Animals to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC

WHAT: Pennsylvania State Treasurer Rob McCord will donate approximately 1,300 stuffed animal toys to patients at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

McCord will offer remarks and pass out stuffed animals to patients and families.

The toys were among items the Treasury held under its Unclaimed Property Program, which as a revenue-generating, good government program, often sells abandoned items. In this case, McCord decided that children should be the ones to benefit.

WHO: State Treasurer Rob McCord and staff; Andrew Urbach, M.D., medical director for external affairs; and Children’s Hospital patients and families

WHEN: 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011

WHERE: Main Lobby, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, One Children’s Hospital Dr., 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224

Note to Media: Media interested in attending should park in the hospital’s main driveway and meet Andrea Kunicky in the lobby to be escorted to the event.
