WHY: Chris Draft lost his wife to lung cancer in December 2011. Since then, Mr. Draft launched Team Draft, an initiative of the Chris Draft Family Foundation, and one of its missions is to promote awareness and charitable support of lung cancer research.
In the last six months, Mr. Draft has visited nearly 50 cancer centers across the country and is working to develop partnerships with centers in Washington D.C., Cleveland, Atlanta, Colorado, California and dozens more. He believes researchers have made great advances in lung cancer research, but that the message hasn’t reached the public. Mr. Draft hopes to foster hope among lung cancer patients, raise awareness about the importance of lung cancer research, and increase charitable giving to support these efforts.
