WHAT: Media briefing and tour inside of the brand new, soon-to-be-open UPMC East hospital

WHO: UPMC East leadership team and key clinical and executive team members

WHEN: Beginning at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2012 

WHERE: UPMC East, main entrance. For access, media must use the Gate C Main Entrance parking lot, 140 Fox Plan Rd., Monroeville, 15146.

WHY: Set to open July 2, UPMC East will provide world-class inpatient care close to home for residents of the eastern suburbs. The brand new 156-bed, state-of-the-art hospital will serve the growing needs of the communities east of Pittsburgh. The hospital was designed with the latest technology and environmentally efficient construction, providing a wide range of inpatient services in a comfortable setting that puts the patient and family at the center of care. The new community hospital will work synergistically with the nearby comprehensive outpatient services that UPMC has long provided in Monroeville.
