​Inaugural ‘Scope It Out 5K Run/Walk Pittsburgh’ to Benefit Cancer Research at UPCI

 
WHAT: The Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation in Pittsburgh is hosting the inaugural Scope It Out 5K Run/Walk to bring awareness to colon cancer. The event also will support research at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI).
 
WHO: Open to the public
 
WHEN: 8:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 13
 
WHERE: North Shore Drive facing PNC Park, Pittsburgh
 
WHY: More than 100,000 people in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed this year with colon cancer, and more than 40,000 with rectal cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. The Chris4Life Foundation works to spread awareness of colorectal cancers and also to raise funds for research.
