Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® & Beads of Courage® Bring Circus Fun to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC

WHAT: To celebrate the healing power of laughter, Beads of Courage® and Ringling Bros.® clowns have teamed up and will be stopping by to visit patients at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC to share plenty of laughs, smiles and courage.

The clowns will perform and visit with patients in the Eat’n Park Atrium and then stop by patient’s bedsides to participate in the Beads of Courage® program throughout the Oncology and Cardiology units. Through the Beads of Courage Program, children are given beads to represent significant treatment milestones during their journey.

The fun-filled day will include carnival games, prizes, crafts and a caricature artist.

Patients will also receive a Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Clown bead that will be will be packaged with a note of encouragement as a reminder that laugher is good medicine.

WHY: The clowns are making a “Pitt” stop through Pittsburgh this week in anticipation of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ® coming into town November 2–6.
