Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC Sponsors 10th Annual Girls on the Run® 5K and 3rd Annual Kids Ribbon Race

WHAT: 10th Annual Girls on the Run 5K for girls in grades 3 to 8; 3rd Annual Kids Ribbon Race is a 50-yard dash for girls 7 years old and younger
WHO: The race is open to the public and is a fun, family-friendly event with pre-race entertainment and post-race activities.
WHEN: Sunday, May 20, 2012: 9:30 a.m., 5K; 10:30 a.m., Kids Ribbon Race
WHERE: Hartwood Acres, 200 Hartwood Acres, Allison Park
WHY: Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping girls stay out of the "girl box" using a 20-lesson curriculum designed to promote good choices for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. The lessons use warm-ups and workouts that encourage emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical well-being.
The GOTR 5K is the culminating event for all spring GOTR programs in our area. All participants will wear bib #1 and there is no official scoring or timing but there will be a finish line clock.
