UPMC Forum to Highlight New Treatments for Deep Vein Thrombosis
WHAT: Rabih Chaer, M.D., and Geetha Jeyabalan, M.D., will host a community education program focusing on the signs, symptoms and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clots in deep veins of the leg.

WHY: Deep vein thrombosis affects over 600,000 people each year, making DVT the 3rd most prevalent cardiovascular disorder. Left untreated, DVT can lead to various life-limiting conditions including pulmonary embolism or post-thrombotic syndrome.
