UPMC Recognizes Community Partners with Inclusion Champion Awards

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 17, 2012 – At a recent ceremony, the UPMC Center for Inclusion recognized individuals and organizations with Inclusion Champion Awards for making significant efforts to promote inclusion and diversity in the workplace and the community. 
The honorees were recognized for sharing a commitment to inclusion in the community and for championing inclusion efforts.
“We continue to be excited about the support we have received for our inclusion efforts in the workplace and the community,” said Candi Castleberry Singleton, chief inclusion and diversity officer at UPMC. “Our progress can be largely attributed to the contributions of our current and past Inclusion Champions. Together, we are
making UPMC and the communities we serve more inclusive.”
Awards were given in several categories, which are listed below in parentheses. The 2012 Inclusion Champions are:
• American Heart Association, accepted by Brenda D. Parks, Health Equity Director Cleveland & Pittsburgh Markets and Sherry Stitt, Executive Director/Vice President Pittsburgh Metro area (Healthy Community, Healthy You)
• Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, accepted by Patty Trainer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer (Workforce Development)
• Vibrant Pittsburgh, accepted by Melanie Harrington (Dignity & Respect Champion)
• Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit, accepted by Diane DuFour-Gaudio (K-12 Initiatives)
• Shona Eakin, Executive Director, Voices for Independence (Disabilities Resource Council)
• Logix Guru, accepted by Ravi Ajmani (Supplier Diversity Council—Minority Business Enterprise)
• AlphaGraphics, accepted by Anne Flanagan (Supplier Diversity Council—Women’s Business Enterprise)
