UPMC East Alive and Well Series Presents ‘Gearing Up For Golf’

WHAT: Free educational session covering ways to improve your golf game and how to treat or prevent golf-related injuries. Parking also is free and light refreshments will be served.

6 to 6:45 p.m.

Albert Lin, M.D., UPMC East orthopaedic surgeon, will discuss the diagnosis and conservative and advanced treatment options for rotator cuff tears — a common golf-related injury.

6:45 to 7:15 p.m.

Peter Micklewright, PGA Head Golf Professional at Edgewood Country Club, will show you how to improve your golf swing and discuss common swing faults. Understand the mechanics behind your swing and improve your overall game.

7:15 to 7:45 p.m.

Megan Carter, P.T., D.P.T., UPMC Centers for Rehab Services, will demonstrate the physical screening tool for golfers developed by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). Learn how to bridge the gap between physical impairments and limitations in your golf swing.
