UPMC Mercy Hosts Reception for Fall Voice Conference

WHAT: The UPMC Voice Center is playing a leading role in the Fall Voice Conference, the premier international clinical conference on the management of voice problems. The conference will begin with a welcome reception in the UPMC Voice Center at UPMC Mercy, including a facility tour. Experts will deliver talks on Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17, at The Sheraton Station Square, South Side.
WHO: Local and national vocal therapy experts, including UPMC’s:
  • Clark A. Rosen, M.D., director, UPMC Voice Center, conference co-chair
  • Jackie Gartner-Schmidt, Ph.D., associate director, UPMC Voice Center, conference co-chair
  • Jonas Johnson, M.D., chair, Department of Otolaryngology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC
  • Stephen Perkins, M.D., vice president, medical affairs, UPMC Health Plan
WHEN: Tour and reception will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14

WHY: As a resource for both the general public and those who use their voices professionally, the UPMC Voice Center uses a team approach to treat vocal disorders. The Fall Voice Conference will bring leading experts to Pittsburgh and UPMC to discuss the newest technologies and research in this growing field.
