Students from Pittsburgh’s Youth for Environmental Sustainability

- Pittsburgh-area YES participants
WHEN: 7 p.m., Thursday, July 23
With the support of Magee Womancare International
, YES was established in 2014 by a group of Pittsburgh high school students who took part in an exchange program with Nepal. After Nepalese students visited Pittsburgh, local students traveled to Nepal for three weeks for an immersive experience to study environmental health. The film “Namaste, Nepal” follows high school students from Silicon Valley who embarked on a similar journey in 2009. As Nepal recovers from the earthquake that ravaged the Kathmandu region, YES students will donate the proceeds from the screening directly to relief efforts in the country that provided them with such a powerful and educational experience.
