UPMC Shadyside Hosts Bicycle Safety Fair
WHAT: The Bicycle Safety Fair, sponsored by the UPMC Shadyside Emergency Department, will promote safe bicycle riding practices with maintenance demonstrations, fit-tests for bicycles and helmets for safety, and information for cyclists to help protect against thieves. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will be eligible to win prizes, including training DVDs, bicycle gear and gift certificates.
WHY: Bicycling is a great way to exercise and commute. However, without taking the right safety precautions, bicycling can be dangerous and result in serious injuries.
WHO: UPMC Shadyside Emergency Department staff and representatives from the Keystone Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Top Gear Bicycle Shop; Cycling Fusion; Revolution Cycle; and Friends of the Riverfront.
