The Role of the Transfusion Pathologist
Transfusion pathologists are the doctors who:
- diagnose and treat bleeding problems
- select and administer blood products
- monitor patients for reactions that may develop due to transfusions
They are an integral part of the medical team during those critical times when a person's life may be in jeopardy due to severe blood loss or a coagulation disorder.
