A beautifully landscaped hilltop campus on Saltsburg Road near Penn Hills is home to Seneca Manor. Our assisted living residence offers a comfortable and supportive lifestyle in a landmark setting that was once the site of Seneca School. Seneca Manor brings together attentive, affordable assisted living in a complete care campus including residences for independent retirement living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care, all supported by UPMC, a world-class health care system dedicated to improving and enriching the lives of seniors.

Seneca Manor offers spacious and private studio/efficiency or one-bedroom apartment homes designed with all the amenities needed to remain independent while receiving extra supervision and help with day-to-day activities.

Residents are assessed, and plans of care and support are created to meet their individual needs before they move to Seneca Manor. Regular assessments are done to ensure that each resident continues to receive needed care. Personal care services provided include around the clock nursing care and medication management, assistance with dressing, bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, help with walking and getting around, and a friendly escort to meals and activities.

Amenities include

  • Delicious restaurant-style, chef-prepared meals daily
  • Facility managers on site around the clock, seven days a week to help meet residents’ every need
  • Housekeeping and fresh linen and towel services weekly
  • Utilities and cable television paid (excluding telephone)
  • Daily activities, outings, and stimulating interest groups to encourage socializing and engagement
  • Beautifully decorated fireside lounge
  • Dependable daily van transportation to shopping and appointments
  • Convenient on-site beauty salon and barber shop
  • Outdoor patio, courtyard, and gardening space to enjoy the beauty of nature
  • Daily fruit and beverage bar for healthy snacking
  • 24-hour nursing care and personal care services tailored to each resident's unique needs
  • Access to quality health care and wellness services
  • On-site rehabilitation services with occupational and speech therapists who are specially trained in geriatric care 

Our private apartments feature kitchenettes with wood cabinetry, window treatments, and individually controlled heat and air conditioning.

  • A $500 community fee is required upon admission.

 Independent Core Service Package

The independent core service package is provided to residents who do not require assistance witl ADLs and includes the following assisted living services:

  • 24-hour supervision, monitoring and emergency response
  • Three (3) nutritious meals per day and between meal snacks and beverages
  • Weekly housekeeping services
  • laundry service for bed linens and towels
  • A daily program of social and recreational activities
  • Basic cognitive support services
  • Assistance with unanticipated ADLs for a defined recovery period
  • Medication administration 
  • Transportation for medical and social appointments

Enhanced Core Package, Level 1

The level one enhanced core package includes all of the assisted living services provided under the Independent Core Service Package, (as described above), and shall be provided to residents who require a moderate level of assistance with ADLs for an undefined recovery period, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene. 

Enhanced Core Service Package, Level 2

The level two enhanced core package includes all of the assisted living services provided under the Independent Core Service Package (as described above), and shall be provided to residents who require an extensive level of assistance with ADLs for an undefined recovery period, including but not limited to:

  • Incontinence care
  • Assistance with ambulation
  • Transfers requiring a mechanical lift device
  • Cueing and redirection
  • Scheduled or increased ADL and medical needs associated with aging in place.
