Veteran's Day 2015

Programs for Veterans at UPMC

UPMC has long been a military-friendly employer and supporter of our veterans.

Some of the innovative programs we support include:

Poppies & Pups Program

As one of the largest employers of veterans in western Pennsylvania, UPMC is honored to celebrate and support our nation’s veterans.

The Poppies & Pups program will be an anchor to bring all of UPMC’s health and employment programs, as well as our community partners, together to support veterans and veteran initiatives in the community.

Poppies have been a symbol of veterans since the famous WWI era poem, “In Flanders Fields.” Pups refer to UPMC's partnership with Animal Friends to provide service dogs to our veterans as a form of comforting companionship and alternative health support.
