Students with serious interest in opportunities to volunteer at UPMC Hamot are invited to apply.
Students may volunteer to gain exposure to careers in health care, fulfill a requirement for community service, or simply to experience the personal satisfaction of serving others.
Requirements
While volunteering can be fun and interesting, it is also a real commitment involving accountability and responsibility.
Volunteers must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Commit to a minimum of 50 service hours annually
- Submit an application as well as pass through a screening process
- Provide service to UPMC Hamot without compensation
Application Process
If volunteering at UPMC Hamot could be your mission, please submit the online application. Once your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Services department. Efforts are made to match the skills and interests of qualified applicants with appropriate placements within the hospital.
How Do I Become a Volunteer?
- Complete the online volunteer application form
- Submit two confidential references using one of the options below:
- Paper Referral: Download PDF and ask two references to either mail or fax the form directly to the hospital selected.
- Online Referral: Send link to two individuals giving them instructions to select the hospital you've selected.
