UPMC Hamot offers outpatient infusion services through the UPMC Hamot Infusion Center and in-home infusion services through Chartwell Great Lakes Home Health.
Inpatient Infusion Center
For a safe, comfortable, convenient alternative to inpatient care for quality infusion therapy, you can visit the UPMC Hamot Infusion Center.
The Infusion Center uses high technology infusion pumps and medication administration systems to enhance patient safety and is staffed with registered nurses specifically trained in infusion therapy.
Why should I receive infusions on an outpatient basis?
If you require infusion therapy during your hospitalization, the Infusion Center can decrease the length of your stay by providing those services on an outpatient basis.
When you come to the Infusion Center, you can take advantage of free parking for easy access, along with the comforts of:
- Recliner chairs
- Complimentary beverages
- Cable television
Does the Infusion Center accept insurance?
Since the Infusion Center is hospital-based, Medicare and other insurances cover therapies that would otherwise not be reimbursed in a home care setting.
When is the Infusion Center open?
The Infusion Center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Therapy times vary based on the treatment. All therapies must be ordered by a doctor.
