The UPMC Hamot Center for Healthy Living offers a wide range of services designed to assist you in enhancing your physical and emotional health by focusing on wellness, prevention, and early disease detection.

Our Services

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

The outpatient cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program helps patients diagnosed with heart disease or chronic lung disease, or who are recovering from a heart procedure or heart attack. This service includes monitored exercise and education to improve your quality of life. It’s covered by most insurance companies.

Walk-in E​KG

​Walk-in EKG testing is available at the UPMC Hamot Center for Healthy Living for adults ages 18 and older. Bring your doctor's order and health insurance cards to the Cadiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department, located on the lower level of Sterling Square. For more information, call 814-877-5608.​

  • Monday through Thursday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

Eating a balanced diet can sometimes be difficult. If you are trying to lose weight, manage a disease or condition, or if you just want to feel better overall, UPMC Hamot’s registered dietitians can help you achieve your goals through medical nutrition therapy.

Our sessions are available for both adults and children. A physician’s diagnosis is needed to bill insurance. Call us at 877-5481 to verify your insurance coverage and to schedule an appointment.

Adults (age 18 and older)
Focuses on developing meal plans and providing support for patients affected by:

  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Gastroparesis
  • Obesity
  • Digestive disorders

Patients with diabetes are referred to the Diabetes Institute.

Children (infants to age 18)
Pediatric medical nutrition therapy addresses concerns including:

  • Failure to thrive
  • Eating disorders
  • Dietary restrictions
  • Children who are over or underweight

​Health Coaching

A health coach can help you develop a plan to reach your lifestyle goals, including improving your diet, fitness, sleep and stress. Other common reasons for working with a health coach include managing menopause, enhancing energy and stamina and developing a dietary supplement regimen. To schedule an appointment, call

Strength Training for Beginners

Learn to strengthen muscles, preserve bone, and tone your body. Resistance bands provided or bring your own two- to five-pound dumbbells. Evening sessions are available. Call for schedule.​
