About Your Rotation at UPMC Horizon

Orientation

Orientation is on the first day of your rotation at 8 a.m., at the Shenango Valley facility in Conference Room 1 (next to the cafeteria) .

If your rotation falls on a holiday, please report the following day.

Housing

On the weekend prior to your rotation (or the day of orientation) pick up a packet, at the Shenango Valley campus Emergency Department registration area, containing the location of your housing, directions, and keys.

We currently house one student at UPMC Horizon's Greenville facility and six students at Pine Tree Village Apartments in West Middlesex (about 10 minutes from the Shenango Valley campus).

The apartment at Pine Tree Village has:

  • Three bedrooms with two beds in each
  • Two bathrooms
  • A living room
  • A dining room

A cleaning service comes in once a week and brings clean linens. Paper toiletries are also provided.

We will attempt to place students in an area convenient to their rotations. However, there may be times when students must be housed at the Greenville facility, even though their rotation is at the Shenango Valley facility.

Important notes about housing

  • Please do not bring pets with you while you are on rotation.
  • Due to our limited housing, we are unable to accommodate spouses or friends.
  • Because we do not have separate housing for men and women, choose your accommodations at the apartment accordingly so everyone is comfortable.

Parking

Free parking is available at both facilities in the employee parking areas.

Badges

Students must wear their school nametags at all times for purposes of identification.
