The family medicine and general surgery programs are accredited by the American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
We recognize each resident is unique and our small size allows us to tailor your residency experience to meet your unique practice goals through our many elective opportunities. A strong advisor system provides residents with ongoing feedback and support to assist residents in personal goals including preparing for fellowships. Though small, we have access to the wealth of opportunities provided through our over 20-year partnership with UPMC. We are committed to preparing each resident for the broad challenges of medicine and surgery as evidenced by our 100% board certification pass rate.
At UPMC Horizon, the family physician is recognized as being at the very center of a community’s health care. Our program is active in the community through health fairs, cancer screenings, free clinic, wellness training, school presentations, and school health. The medical staff, administration, and patients highly value the medical care provided by the residents. Residents are provided increasing levels of responsibility to match their experience and ability. In the office and the community, YOU are your patients’ PCP.
