Anesthesia Residency Program at UPMC Lititz: Curriculum

The following list details the clinical rotation during your residency:

As a categorical four-year program, the twelve months of education in fundamental clinical skills of medicine are completed over the first two years. This allows for four months of anesthesiology during the first year. The fundamental clinical skills curriculum includes::

  • Two months of Internal Medicine.
  • One month of Neurology.
  • One month of OB/GYN.
  • One month of inpatient Pediatrics/NICU.
  • Two months of General Surgery.
  • One month of Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Two monthes of Critical Care (SICU- PSHMC, ICU UPMC Lititz).
  • One month of Emergency Medicine.
  • One month of inpatient Cardiology.
  • One month of general Anesthesia.

Clinical Anesthesia Years curriculum includes:

  • Critical Care Medicine.
  • Pre-operative Medicine.
  • PACU.
  • Obstetric Anesthesia.
  • Pediatric Anesthesia – PSHMC/UPMC Harrisburg.
  • Neuroanesthesia – PSHMC.
  • Cardiothoracic Anesthesia –UPMC Harrisburg.
  • Acute Perioperative Pain Management.
  • Chronic Pain Management – PSHMC.
  • Regional Anesthesia.
  • Trauma Anesthesia –PSHMC.
