Outpatient Services at UPMC Passavant

Outpatient services at UPMC Passavant allow you to get the care you need and get back home more quickly and conveniently.

Thanks to advances in technology, a large variety of treatments and procedures that once required a hospital stay are now able to be performed on an outpatient basis.

Radiology/Imaging

We offer a wide array of diagnostic testing services, including:

  • PET-CT scan
  • CT colonography
  • Lung cancer screening
  • Wide-bore MRI
  • Fluoroscopy services
  • Digital x-ray

Gastrointestinal (GI) Center

Our full-service center includes:

  • 26 private rooms used for both pre-procedure and recovery
  • Eight procedure rooms
  • A dedicated pulmonary/bronchoscopy suite
  • A large, comfortable waiting area for family members
Registration, pre-procedure, and post-procedure activities all take place within the GI Center, providing a seamless, convenient experience.

Surgical Services

Surgical procedures are shifting to be more outpatient-based. Approximately 65 percent of surgical procedures at UPMC Passavant are now performed as outpatient procedures.

Through the use of advanced technology, more complex surgeries can be performed as outpatient procedures, including:

  • Gallbladder removal
  • Thyroidectomy
  • Orthopaedic shoulder, knee, and arm surgeries
  • Lumpectomy
