WHAT: UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and AIM at Melanoma Foundation will present a half-day symposium for melanoma patients, family members and caregivers. “Living with Melanoma” will bring together leading UPMC and University of Pittsburgh melanoma experts to provide the latest information on current research, clinical trials and new immunotherapy advances available at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and will address many of the day-to-day medical and psychological challenges of those who are living with this disease.

Advanced registration is required either online at AIM Melamona, by emailing Sguild@AIMatMelanoma.org, or by calling 916-706-0599. The event also will be broadcast via a live-streaming feed. Participants must still register to receive the link to log in and attend.

WHY: Melanoma is the most aggressive and most dangerous form of skin cancer because it is often hard to detect in its early stages. It also can spread quickly to other parts of the body through the lymph or circulatory systems, making it tough to treat.

WHO:

• Attendees include patients, family members and caregivers of those living with melanoma.
• Presenters include leading UPMC and University of Pittsburgh melanoma researchers and physicians.

WHEN: 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 28, 2018

WHERE: UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, Cooper Conference Center, Ground Floor, 5115 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, 15232.

Note to Media: To cover this event, prearrangements must be made by contacting Cyndy Patton at PattonC4@UPMC.edu or 412-415-6085.
