Former Patient Brings Joy to Young Patients at WPIC with ‘Connor's Crusade’

WHAT: Connor Buzzelli, a 21-year-old who sought treatment at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC (WPIC) during his high school years, will again donate gifts to young patients who currently are hospitalized at WPIC. With the help of his family, staff at WPIC and donations from the community, Connor will deliver items on the children’s wish lists including toys, books, clothing and toiletries.
WHY: During his stay at the hospital, Connor noticed some kids were left feeling lonely during the holidays without a lot of support. With Connor's Crusade, he hopes to make the holidays brighter for these patients, and raise awareness to end the negative stigma of mental health disorders.
