WHAT: UPMC McKeesport presents a free health education discussion about abdominal hernias and what causes them. This session will cover the latest in minimally invasive surgical treatments available. Free health screenings including blood pressure, bone density and pulmonary function also will be offered.
Registration is required, call 412-664-2306. Free parking in the hospital garage will be provided.
WHY: An abdominal, or inguinal hernia occurs when a part of the intestine or bladder pushes through a weakness in the lower abdominal wall. This type of hernia doesn’t go away on its own – and may get bigger.
