Other Ways to Give
Memorial gifts, and gifts made in honor of family and friend(s) for birthdays, anniversaries or other notable occasions, are wonderful ways to show how much you care. To give a donation in honor of or in memory of a loved one, please indicate your request in writing when you mail a donation to us.
You can leave a legacy of charitable care by making a gift to UPMC Senior Communities, the Living-at-Home Fund, or any of the Community Outreach Programs through your will, trust or other planned gift to support programs that have a special meaning for you while maintaining your cash flow during your lifetime. Planned gifts can also help you reduce estate taxes or administration expenses. For more information about a planned gift in support of UPMC Senior Communities, please contact Debbie Panie, benevolent care advocate, at 412-864-3524.
Giving Through the United Way
You may direct your United Way of Allegheny County gift to either Senior Communities Benevolent Care Program (9619305) or the Living-At-Home Program (4363) by including one or both of these agency code numbers when you make your pledge or gift. If you are served by another United Way organization you may still support these two critical programs by inquiring about their reciprocity agreement with the Allegheny County program.
Some people prefer to make a gift pledge, which can be paid in installments over a period of months or years. To make a pledge, please call 412-864-3524 or email PaneiD@upmc.edu.
Gifts of Stock
To make a gift of appreciated securities (stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares), please inform your broker or bank and notify us of your intention by telephone at 412-647-0572. A development officer can explain how easily the securities can be transferred to UPMC Senior Services. Securities held for more than a year are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law and they may minimize capital gains liabilities.
