ACL Injury Risk Screening and Prevention
Are you a healthy athlete who wants to increase your performance?
Have you had an ACL injury in the past and wish to ensure that re-injury does not occur?
Injury prevention is key to maintaining and increasing performance at all ages and ability levels. The first step is an ACL Injury Risk Screening. Provided by our facility experts, the screening will to help identify your potential risks for ACL injury and re-injury.
The screening will assess quality of movement, strength, flexibility, and core stability. A personalized review of your screening will assist in determining the next steps for injury prevention.
Functional Movement Assessment
Testing and evaluation is the cornerstone of the programs at UPMC Sports Performance. A performance evaluation provides the individual with a complete breakdown of strengths, weaknesses, and biomechanical movement issues.
As a component of our Individualized Assessment, the Functional Movement Screen is a tool used by our experts to determine full body mobility. Let’s see how well you move!
ImPACT baseline concussion testing*
*ImPACT baseline concussion testing is available for children ages 10 and older, and will be offered at a discounted fee during the showcase. Registration is required for baseline testing sessions.
The ImPACT tool sets a baseline for normal for normal brain activities when an athlete is in a non-concussed or normal state. UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program neurophsychologists advise baseline concussion testing yearly for children under the age of 12 and every-other year for children 13 and up.
