UPMC Sports Medicine uses the most advanced medical diagnostic imaging technology available.

Our doctors assess every sports injury with our on-site radiologists at our sports imaging clinic. This allows us to provide a prompt and accurate diagnosis and plan the best treatment option for you.

Wide Bore MRI and Other Imaging Services

Our wide bore MRI offers all of the features of a standard MRI, but is roomier and less confined.

Other sports imaging services include:

• Musculoskeletal ultrasound
• Bone scan

We offer these and other sports imaging services at our two main locations:

• The UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Pittsburgh's South Side
• The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township

Sports Imaging Test Results

One of our subspecialty-trained radiologists will read your sports imaging scans. This means an expert who focuses on one medical specialty will review your tests and report the results to your doctor.

If your doctor is from UPMC, he or she can receive your MRI or other imaging results electronically and view them on the computer desktop.

Your doctor will contact you after he or she reviews your results. If you have questions about your results, you should call your doctor's office directly.
