Pittsburgh AIDS Center for Treatment

The Pittsburgh AIDS Center for Treatment (PACT) — part of the UPMC Center for Care of Infectious Diseases — provides complete care to more than 1,700 adults infected with HIV.

The center's HIV treatment and social support services include:

  • Gynecologic care.
  • HIV primary care.
  • Medical case management.
  • Nutrition consults.
  • Clinical trials for HIV infection.
  • Pharmacy services.
  • Hepatitis C care.
  • HIV specialty care.
  • Mental health care.
  • Pain management.
  • Support groups.
  • Free and confidential partner testing.

PACT's care team of HIV experts includes:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Other health care and social support staff

We provide ongoing primary medical care and education for people who have HIV or AIDS.

HIV Clinical Trial and Research Options

Along with treatment and support, the center conducts clinical trials of antiretrovirals for therapy and prevention of HIV-1 infection.

The University of Pittsburgh Clinical Trial Evaluation Unit (PTEU) also offers trials for treatment of HIV infection and related illnesses. Call the PTEU for details or appointments at 412-647-8125 or 1-888-396-7838.
