What is Pelvic Organ Prolapse?

Pelvic organ prolapse is the “slipping” or “falling” of one or more of the organs of the pelvis:

  • Bladder
  • Uterus
  • Rectum

When this happens, the organs lose support and drop through the vagina.

Symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse include:

  • Bladder leakage
  • Trouble urinating
  • Pain
  • Vaginal discomfort
  • Rectal incontinence
