Community Spotlight: Making a Difference in McKeesport

Community Spotlight: Making a Difference in McKeesport

Our commitment to the McKeesport, Pa., community extends far beyond providing world-class patient care:

  • In 2023, the city of McKeesport — in partnership with UPMC — received a $125,000 grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to address social determinants of health.
  • The UPMC Scholars Program provides tuition loans to local students. The loans cover the cost of a registered nurse (RN) education, scholarships, and a three-year work opportunity at UPMC McKeesport.
  • In 2023, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania opened The Club Teen Center in McKeesport in partnership with UPMC. The center provides teenagers with career coaching, mental health services, and academic support.

UPMC McKeesport also sponsors McKeesport’s annual community day, which includes fun activities, live entertainment, and health screenings.
