Infusion Treatments and Services
Infusion treatments are the process of providing a patient with fluid, blood or blood product or a drug or nutritional supplement directly into the bloodstream. Some infusions are given to patients to treat illnesses or counteract side effects of treatments. A few examples of infusions are:
- Chemotherapy treatments
- Remicade for rheumatoid arthritis and gastrointestinal disorders
- Treatments for fibromyalgia
Some treatments may take several hours to administer. Each infusion station has a recliner and television for your comfort. You are welcome to read, write – or take a nap. Staff is always available to answer questions to help you in any way to make your experience comfortable.
As a patient in the Infusion Center, we review and take considerations from your medical history, monitor lab levels and evaluate the medication delivery system carefully throughout your treatment. Our staff communicates with your physician(s), home health nurses, hospital providers and other services that are involved in your care.
