Jeffrey Magill is an expert in strategically assessing the behavioral health needs of individuals following traumatic events. He is a former trainer at the resolve Crisis Services, a Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic initiative that provides 24/7/365 mental health crisis intervention and stabilization services for residents of Allegheny County. In this role, he provides behavioral health and crisis counseling to hospital employees. Additionally, he has nearly 20 years of experience developing and/or teaching numerous training programs in crisis management, suicide awareness, ASIST Suicide Training, Critical Incident Stress Management, and disaster preparedness.
Mr. Magill has worked both in clinical and management roles responding to behavioral health crisis situations and conducting risk assessments as well as screenings. He oversees Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic’s Behavioral Health Response Team, which provides acute behavioral health stabilization to individuals impacted by adverse events.
Prior to his role as a trainer he was a clinical educator for Western Psychiatric’s Crisis Training Institute. He is also a member of Butler County Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team, and has provided training to the Disaster Crisis Outreach and Referral Teams (DCORT) of Pennsylvania. Mr. Magill also helped lead the Behavioral Health response following Tropical Storm Ivan for Butler County, and has worked closely with the American Red Cross, local county Emergency Management Agencies, and the United Way to develop the Butler County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster.
