Tamra Minnier, M.S.N., R.N., F.A.C.H.E., F.A.A.N.

A leader at UPMC for more than 25 years, Tamra "Tami" Minnier currently coordinates quality and operational improvement efforts across UPMC’s 40 hospitals, 800 doctor’s office and outpatient sites and more than 4 million health plan enrollees. She also oversees the Wolff Center, whose specialists lead quality improvement efforts across the health system, and The Beckwith Institute, a foundation supporting innovation in care delivery. 

 

Many of the quality programs that Ms. Minnier has developed have gained national and international recognition. She has studied the Toyota Production System and Lean Manufacturing, and is a graduate of the Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Health. 

 

She also has served as faculty at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.  

 

Ms. Minnier earned her BSN and MSN from the University of Pittsburgh and is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and American College of Healthcare Executives. A nationally known speaker, she has been noted by Becker’s as one of the 50 top experts leading the field of patient safety and one of the top 130 women health system leaders to know.  

 

She serves as a board member of the United Way of Western Pennsylvania and Phipps Conservatory.
