Dr. Kapoor has led major efforts in health services research, including research related to the outcomes and evaluation of syncope, or fainting, and the outcomes, cost and quality of care for pneumonia. Dr. Kapoor’s other interests include primary health care concerns, as well as education requirements for primary care physicians.
Dr. Kapoor is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and is a past president of the Society of General Internal Medicine and chair of the Federal Council of Internal Medicine.
After receiving his medical degree from Washington University, Dr. Kapoor completed his residency at the University of Miami and his Master of Public Health in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh.
