PITTSBURGH – The first UPMC baby of 2021 knows how to make an entrance. Carter made his debut at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital at 12:54 a.m., crowning him the first UPMC Pittsburgh baby of the year.
The little boy weighs 7 pounds, 4 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.
To celebrate, the Western PA Diaper Bank, a local non-profit that is dedicated to ensuring every baby in the region can be clean, dry and healthy, will provide free diapers for a year.
According to Cathy Battle, co-founder of the Western PA Diaper Bank, “2020 was an overwhelming year for all of us, with more than a million diapers distributed to local families in need.”
Note to Media: Carter’s parents, Jennifer Celender and Patrick Magee, are welcoming members of the news media to meet their newest bundle of joy via Zoom this afternoon from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
