Annual recognition honors organizations committed to business integrity through robust ethics, compliance and governance programs

PITTSBURGH – UPMC has once again received the World’s Most Ethical Companies® recognition by Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.

UPMC has been recognized seven times in a row and is the only organization honored in the integrated healthcare system category. In 2025, a total of 136 honorees were recognized spanning 19 countries and 44 industries.

"We are deeply honored to be recognized by Ethisphere as a World's Most Ethical Companies® honoree for the seventh time,” said Mary Beth Jenkins, president and CEO of UPMC Health Plan, executive vice president of UPMC and president of UPMC Insurance Services. “This prestigious distinction reflects the unwavering dedication of our entire team to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical practices. At UPMC, we believe that ethical behavior is the cornerstone of trust and excellence in patient care and services. I am incredibly proud of our commitment to these principles and the positive impact it has on our community and the healthcare industry.”

The 2025 World’s Most Ethical Companies® honorees outperformed a comparable index of global companies by 7.8 percentage points from January 2020 to January 2025.

“Congratulations to UPMC for achieving recognition as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies®, said Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere’s chief strategy officer and executive chair. Behind this honor is a true dedication and a commitment to advancing business integrity. This approach is good for business – employees and other stakeholders value companies that prioritize the kinds of practices we measure with our process.”
