PITTSBURGH – Keith Lorenz, M.H.A., has been appointed vice president of Operations for UPMC Passavant. He will support and lead the hospital in its goal to be the best place for people to work, patients to receive care, and for advanced care providers and physicians to practice medicine.
He began his career with UPMC as a patient transporter at UPMC Passavant. His first UPMC leadership roles were at UPMC East and UPMC McKeesport, where he served as director of Operations.
Since 2017, Lorenz has served on UPMC Passavant’s executive management group as senior director of Ancillary Services overseeing key essential services departments. He has worked closely with the Passavant Hospital Foundation and has been instrumental in securing millions of dollars in grant and matching funds for campus revitalization projects.
“Keith brings great experience to his new position that will strengthen UPMC Passavant’s commitment to the community and to provide the best possible care for our patients,” said Susan E. Hoolahan, M.S.N., R.N., N.E.A.-B.C., president, UPMC Passavant.
Lorenz earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University.
When he’s not at UPMC Passavant, Keith enjoys giving back to his alma mater supporting initiatives led by the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, Department of Health Policy and Management. He serves as a mentor to first- and second-year MHA students, acts as a preceptor for administrative residents, serves on their admissions committee and was recently a featured presenter in a health care leadership lecture series.
