WHAT: Internationally recognized opera performer and artistic director of the Pittsburgh Festival Opera, Marianne Cornetti; and Kevin Glavin, international opera singer, dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus, will deliver holiday presents for UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital children and adolescents inpatients. Marianne and Kevin will perform live outside of the hospital for frontline staff.
WHY: The holidays can be a lonely time for inpatients at the hospital, especially this year with the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Gifts go a long way and help to bring joy during difficult times. The hospital will get a sense of holiday cheer through this festive celebration, complete with live music, Santa and Mrs. Claus with their elves, gifts and a sleigh!
