WHAT: UPMC CancerCenter and its Breast Cancer Program at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC will host a plaque dedication to A Glimmer of Hope, a Pittsburgh-based breast cancer foundation, for its generous support of nearly $20,000 to renovate the radiation oncology waiting room and resource center at Magee. The new space offers patients a healing, welcoming environment, while providing an educational resource center for those with a cancer diagnosis.
WHY: Together, A Glimmer of Hope, UPMC CancerCenter and the Magee Breast Cancer Program offer research and clinical programs to assist women on their journey through and beyond cancer. Over its 22 years of philanthropy, A Glimmer of Hope has donated more than $1 million to support breast cancer care at Magee.
