PITTSBURGH, June 28, 2016 – UPMC today broke ground on a new outpatient site in Hampton Township that will feature comprehensive care for children and adults, various rehabilitation therapies, primary care, advanced imaging services, diagnostic testing, and after-hours care for adults and children. The new center, based on the medical mall concept of convenient access to primary care services for patients in their own communities, is set to open in September 2017.

Services offered will include comprehensive primary care, women’s health and pediatric care, as well as Children's Express Care - Hampton, which will offer after-hours and weekend care for minor pediatric illnesses and injuries. Adult patients also will have access to a walk-in clinic during weekdays and weekends. Advanced imaging and on-site diagnostic testing will be available, as will behavioral health care, diabetes education and rehabilitation services, including speech therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy.

“This expansion in Hampton Township is a wonderful opportunity for UPMC to lead health care innovation by creating a primary care showcase while we also consolidate all of the services we currently provide along the Route 8 corridor into a single, highly accessible facility,” said Leslie C. Davis, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Health Services Division, UPMC. “We are responding to a growing need for primary care services for adult and pediatric patients in the northern suburbs and this center will make it very convenient to access our world class doctors and caregivers close to home.”

Once constructed, the 44,000-square-foot Outpatient Center in Hampton will be LEED Certified, featuring a three-story glass atrium designed with an abundance of natural light. The architect on the new project is IKM Inc. and the contractor is Massaro Construction Inc. The property is located at 4480 Mt. Royal Blvd. in Allison Park.
