WHAT: This year’s Annual Celebration of Survivorship, hosted by UPMC CancerCenter at UPMC Passavant, returns with a “Cruising to Adventure” party complete with island-themed activities, a steel drum band, food and a basket giveaway. In addition, cancer survivors and their guests will learn about nutrition, health and wellness through breakout sessions. Cancer survivor and featured key note speaker Katy Ursta will talk about her battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

WHY: This event will bring together more than 600 cancer survivors, their families and medical staff for an evening of support, entertainment and education. The UPMC CancerCenter at UPMC Passavant, an associated program of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute—the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center—offers patients advanced diagnosis, treatment and support with services such as nutrition counseling, stress management and support groups.
